from Mr. J. Lee formerly Inspector in the Hongkong Police

Force and now in the Office of the Registrar General.

2. In view of his long service, and his knowledge

of Chinese, for which he has never received any allowance,

I have the honour to recommend that Mr. Lee be granted

extra monthly allowances of $10 for Chinese and $10 for

long service.
